Speech or language impairment: Broward private schools and FES-UA funding

Speech and language impairments are reported by roughly as many Broward schools as autism. 77 Broward private schools report serving this category to the Florida DOE, and 51 of them are also flagged for the Private School Scholarship.

Copied from the state record. School details here come from the Florida Department of Education Private School Directory (Broward district), pulled October 28, 2026. The scholarship flags are the state's own participation flags for that date. Florida does not collect tuition, so ask the school for its price.

What can the FES-UA account pay for a Broward student with speech or language impairment?

Within program rules the account can cover tuition and allowed school fees, along with licensed therapies, credentialed tutors, curriculum, devices, specialized summer programs and testing.

Speech-language pathology is a statutory specialized service, and online sessions with credentialed out-of-state providers are eligible.
